welcome to the loonaverse

loona, 이달의 소녀, or girl of the month/this month's girl, is an upcoming girl group created by blockberry creative, or bbc for short. they're set to debut in 2018 with a total of 12 members

beginning in october 2016, the group started its predebut project by revealing new members periodically and subsequently forming sub units. in the following 18 months, 12 members were introduced through the release of individual solo tracks, single albums, and extended plays

along with the solo releases, there are currently three sub-units:

loona 1/3 (heejin, hyunjin, haseul, vi vi). the one who radiate a pure image

loona odd eye circle (kim lip, jinsoul, choerry). darker, edgier and designed to appeal to western listeners

loona yyxy ( yves, chuu, go won, olivia hye). whose concept revolves around one's youth and ego

their mv descriptions details the "loonaverse" (loona + universe, that's why they're loona the WORLD) being created with each new member. bbc states that "it's not just a series of releases each month to make a group in a year, but it's a story told by music, introduced to the world, one after another, to expand the loonaverse"

along with the loonaverse loona is creating, bbc and the members have frequently mentioned the mobius strip as being a clue to their overall concept. bbc states "LOOΠΔ shuffles and swaps words to toughen its mobius strip to become one"
